GLA completed a Landscape and Visual Assessment for the proposed housing development at Ennerdale View, Cleator Moor. Being involved from an early stage, GLA were able to highlight potential landscape issues which would affect the layout design.
Supporting the LVA report, GLA also provided wireline drawings and photomontages to visualise landscape and visual effects.
GLA completed a Landscape and Visual Assessment Verification Report and included new viewpoints and visualisations to further illustrate and understand the scheme.
Detailed mitigation planting plans were drawn up and also mitigation planting was included in visualisations showing how the proposed planting would mature over time.

Patton, Kendal, Cumbria
Galpin Landscape Architecture worked with Ashton Planning in preparing a successful planning application for an extension to the leisure park at Patton Hall.
Planning permission for 9 additional units was achieved in May 2015.
The visualisations demonstrate the visual effects of the development within the context of the wider landscape. Extensive planting included trees, hedgerows and a fruit orchard next to the farmstead.
The creation of recreational routes in the heart of the Lake District using government funding through the Lake District National Park Authority. This was part of the wider work in the national park for transport and recreation routes as the Lake District moves towards becoming a World Heritage Site.
The visualisations shown in the images were displayed at local consultations and prepared using digital terrain modelling and accurate photography techniques. The use of canoe (as well as camera) was essential for one photo!
