The Pastures is a unique grouping of leisure units all handcrafted by skilled carpenters to each individual owners’ specification.
Galpin Landscape Architecture have prepared the landscape design, landscape and visual assessment and landscape management plan.
The digital terrain model accurately demonstrated where the leisure units would be located and the effect on both the landscape character and the visual amenity has been assessed. The site is well screened and will be further screened by mounds and tree and shrub planting specified by Galpin Landscape Architecture.
The team has successfully secured approval for planning permission with the discharge of planning conditions.

GLA created this visual or artistic impression which formed a useful marketing tool for the client to sell lodges before completion of the site.
The scheme is now in its second phase with successful uptake of lodges and established planting.
Patton, Kendal, Cumbria
Galpin Landscape Architecture worked with Ashton Planning in preparing a successful planning application for an extension to the leisure park at Patton Hall.
Planning permission for 9 additional units was achieved in May 2015.
The visualisations demonstrate the visual effects of the development within the context of the wider landscape. Extensive planting included trees, hedgerows and a fruit orchard next to the farmstead.
Waterhead, Ambleside, Cumbria
We have worked on a number of hotels in and around the Lake District and this is a good example of our design work.
This included the design of the frontage of this high profile hotel on main tourist route in the heart of the Lake District on the edge of Lake Windermere.
Survey, design and site supervision of site works including step design, seating, planting and drainage.
